I worked in the family business growing up and continued on in the tractor business after my time in the military was complete.  My creative side stayed dormant while I learned business and sales and began to mess with landscaping and designing for outside areas.

My wall treatment experience started about four years ago when I began experimenting with relief ferns on my wife’s kitchen walls.  Over a period of the next several years I attended classes at Seattle Architectural Finishing Studio.

I’m fascinated by the history of wall finish.  Venetian Plaster was popularized in Venice during the Renaissance because they needed an alternative to heavy slabs of marble they used in other cities in Italy.  The ground marble and lime became a lighter choice in Venice because of the construction over water.  Over the years many of the wealthy displayed their wealth by fine wall finishes and decorative ornament.

I continue to study and practice to deepen my skill in wall finishing.  We have a 1700 square foot studio and warehouse here in Bellngham.

Our expertise is in traditional wall glazing, distressed finishes, aged plaster,  free form and embossed embellishments, metallic and stone finishes.  We also have suppliers for composition ornament, ceiling domes, fireplace fronts, columns, range hoods, niches, medallions, corbels and bases.

We work with many of the designers in Whatcom and Skagit counties.

I’m a grandpa eight times over and I have four wonderful children and their spouses.
